Pressure on LSE to annul Gaddafi son’s PhD

El NACHO - 00:45
Pressure on LSE to annul Gaddafi son’s PhD: "The unrest in Libya has greatly increased the popularity of one obscure publication. The doctoral thesis of Seif al-Islam Gaddafi, second son of the embattled president, has found a new readership of fact-checkers, reference-chasers and footnote-hunters.

Online activists are poring over the 429-page doctorate, entitled “The role of civil society in the democratisation of global governance institutions”. They hope to make a charge of plagiarism stick so that the London School of Economics will have grounds to revoke his qualification

The LSE says its policy is to revoke degrees only “if there are substantiated concerns about the manner in which it was attained” – not on account of an individual’s behaviour outside academia."
